highlight and color dropdown list

New postby katib » Sun Jun 27, 2010 9:24 am

Hello
I just upgraded to from 1012 to 307
The following screen says it all
Image
On highlight dropdown list, every color has a background color which make it very easy to recognize
That is not the case for color dropdown list :? one can hardly recognize yellow color for example !
So how can I make color dropdown list similar to highlight dropdown?

Thanks a lot for this wonderfull Mod

It did not change from 1.0.12 to 3.0.6...

Both drop-down shows an example on how it will be displayed:

In the case of highlight drop-down, the bbcode change the background colour.
in the other hand, the color drop-down the bbcode change the font colour.

You can wait to the next release, you will have other options to display highlight and color selectors :D

Thanks for prompt reply
Yes, I agree: "Both drop-down shows an example on how it will be displayed"
But, you may agree with me that some colors in color drop-down list are hardly recognizable ;)
In other hand, there is another way to show color font selection using palette. which is used in this board. Palette shows only color, not how font will be displayed ;)

Thanks anyway for this great well maintained Mod

I would suggest the following display, which is simply the above screenshot edited by Paint software :)

If the colourized text is not easy recognizable, same thing will happens in the post, that's why I do it that way, the user have an idea how it will look like ;)

Well :)
But, depending on styles installed, boards's postbody area doesn't have the same background color as the one shown on drop down list
for example, post body area in my forum is rather orange and yellow
The actual board has silver background..etc
So a color that might be hardly recognizable at drop down list may be recognizable once posted and vice versa
Anyway, it is up to you to judge !!

Edit: (because I cant edit my previous post)
What about making drop down list background not hard coded, but a variable, tacking the same color as the post body area ?

It's part of a new selector option introduced into the next version :D
