Please feel free to use this topic for testing.

Scrippets:

One of the major hurdles to discussing and working with screenplays on internet forums is screenplay formatting. Screenplay format isn't just aesthetics, it's a functional format for readers to easily follow along.

Before forum posters would have to use pre-style code and apply time consuming spaces to try to imitate the screenplay format and never with acceptable results. With Scrippets, you can actually recreate the screenplay format easily inside the forum.

This button Image will automatically convert plain text Scrippet into easy to read HTML formated script.

The Scrippet format is a text format designed by John August to allow writers to input screenplay text in easy-to-write plain text and have it converted to properly formatted HTML.

For more information on Scrippets please see http://scrippets.org

We would like to thank MSSTI for all the hard working converting Scrippets for use with phpbb. All those late nights of testing where well worth it. Great work! :D

Instructions:

Scene Headers: These must be all UPPERCASE and start with either INT, EXT, or EST.

Action Blocks: Write these as usual but be sure to put one empty line after the text block so the the plugin can recognize it as an action block.

Character Names: need to be in UPPERCASE.

Character Cues: must be UPPERCASE and in parenthesis (for O.S./V.O.) immediately following the character's name on the same line.

Parentheticals: text must be between parenthesis and right below the Character Name.

Dialogue: must follow immediately below the character name, character cue or parenthetical.

Transitions: must be UPPERCASE and should be followed with a colon, with some hard coded exceptions that don't use colons, such as FADE TO BLACK, FADE OUT and CUT TO BLACK.

That's it. Everything else is done for you!

Here's what it looks like as you type it in.

Code: Select all
[scrippet]INT. PANIC ROOM - MIDNIGHT
Sasha huddles in a dark corner, clutching her walkie-talkie. The sound of SCREAMS fill the air.

SASHA
(screaming)
Joshua, come in! Are you there?

JOSHUA (0.S.)
(gasping)
I... I... I'm not going to make it.

The Radio goes silent.

CUT TO:

EXT. GRAVEYARD -MIDNIGHT
Joshua. mortally wounded, stumbles among the headstones. A crowd of dark murderous figures stalk upon him.

Joshua trips over a vine and collapse on the ground, the walkie talkie breaks loose from his hand. The shadowy stalkers descend upond him.

A SHOTGUN BLAST breaks the silence of the night. The dark mob quickly disperses. A steel haired man climbs out of a freshly dug grave

DAN
Not on my watch.

FADE TO BLACK[/scrippet]

May be for nothing else :D

ABBC3 also includes bbcodes for specified subject, like pre, dir, ed2k, testlink or rapidshare, and other that are disabled by default.

I'm sure this will not be the latest specific bbcode, I'm always opened for new challenges
